Pinehurst Station set to open Sept. 30, linking NE 130th to the 1 and 2 Lines

Sound Transit says Pinehurst Station will open on Sept. 30, 2026, adding a new North Seattle stop along the NE 130th Street corridor and giving riders a direct connection to both the 1 Line and the 2 Line.

The agency describes the stop as an infill station: a platform added to track that trains already run on, built to serve neighborhoods that were passed over when the original alignment opened. According to Sound Transit's announcement, riders should expect trains roughly every four to five minutes during regular service.

Why an infill station matters here

Neighborhoods near NE 130th sit between existing stations, which has meant a bus trip or a long walk to reach the train. A station on the corridor shortens that first and last mile, and it gives east-west bus routes a rail transfer point that did not exist before.
